Tools & setup I use daily
The tools and gear I actually use day-to-day — inspired by uses.tech.
Hardware
- MacBook Pro M1 Primary machine. Still reliable after 5 years of abuse.
- iPhone 11 Broken, tired, desperately needs replacing… but still functioning. Aren't we all?
- AirPods Pro Essential for focus. Also my universal "please do not talk to me" signal.
Development
- Claude Code AI pair programmer. This site was built with it.
- VS Code Reliable workhorse for everything that isn't YAML.
- GitHub Version control, CI, and the open-source home base.
Analytics & Martech
- Google Analytics 4 Daily driver. Know it well enough to hate it and love it.
- Google Tag Manager Implementation layer for basically everything.
- Matomo Less invasive tracking. More invasive navigation menus.
- Posthog Event tracking, feature flags, and just enough chaos to stay interesting.
- Mixpanel Simple. Fast. Makes you think analytics might actually be fun.
- Umami Analytics without the existential crisis or 47 hidden menus.
- Microsoft Clarity Watching users struggle so we can pretend we knew the problem all along.
- Looker Studio Fast dashboards for client reporting.
Productivity
- Notion Project tracking, notes, random ideas, and somehow also my grocery lists.
- ChatGPT Thinking partner & emotional support chatbot whenever Claude token runs out :)
