Tools & Setup I Use Daily
The tools and gear I actually use day-to-day — inspired by uses.tech.
Architecture details live on the site stack.
What tools does Sandi Utomo use?
My daily setup centers on a MacBook Pro, AI-assisted development tools, GitHub, GA4, Google Tag Manager, product analytics platforms, and lightweight productivity systems for architecture and consulting work.
Hardware
- MacBook Pro M1My main machine for work, side projects, analytics debugging, and AI experiments. Somehow still alive after years of heavy use.
- iPhone 15Mostly used for social media, taking screenshots, and checking if tracking breaks outside desktop.
- AirPods Pro 2Required for focus. Also doubles as a polite “do not disturb” mode.
Development
- Claude CodeMy primary AI coding assistant. I use it heavily for building, debugging, refactoring, and architecture thinking.
- OpenAI CodexUsed for product thinking, implementation reviews, research, and technical problem solving.
- Visual Studio CodeStill the best balance between lightweight and powerful.
- GitHubVersion control, deployments, CI/CD, and a growing collection of unfinished experiments.
- VercelWhere most of my frontend projects end up deployed.
- PostmanAPI testing, payload inspection, and figuring out why integrations fail.
Analytics & Martech
- Google Analytics 4Daily driver. Know it well enough to hate it and love it.
- Google Tag ManagerThe control center for tracking implementations.
- MixpanelSimple. Fast. Makes you think analytics might actually be fun.
- AmplitudeStrong for behavioral analysis and product maturity discussions.
- PosthogEvent tracking, feature flags, and just enough chaos to stay interesting.
- Umami AnalyticsSimple analytics without unnecessary complexity.
- Microsoft ClarityWatching users struggle so we can pretend we knew the problem all along.
- StapeUsed for server-side GTM hosting and routing.
Backend & Infrastructure
- SupabaseMy default backend for fast prototyping.
- SanityCMS powering parts of this website.
- WhatsApp Business PlatformCurrently experimenting with integrations and automation workflows.
Productivity
- NotionProject tracking, notes, random ideas, and somehow also my grocery lists.
- Google SheetsMy financial planner, and tax & salary calculator :)
